Description

A juxtaposition of a scene from Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove, 1964 political satire black comedy film, featuring Tracy Reed as Miss Scott, General Turgidson’s secretary and mistress, the film’s only female character. Also, American hydrogen bomb tests conducted at Bikini Atoll, which, as legend has it, awakened and removed Godzilla from his underwater environment and caused him to absorb massive amounts of radiation. Nuclear testing at Bikini Atoll consisted of the detonation of 24 nuclear weapons by the United States between 1946 and 1958 on Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Tests occurred at 7 test sites on the reef itself, on the sea, in the air, and underwater.
